Comelec Chairman Jose Melo declared the Mock Elections a success after the two-hour simultaneous exercise in Taguig, Quezon City, Baguio City, Cebu City and Davao City. In the said mock polls, only Maharlika Elementary School from Taguig failed to transmit its election returns to Comelec’s Central Server in Intramuros.
In other areas like Cebu, there were fluctuations in signals that caused the delay in transmission of results but were able to make it within the allowable time. Election officials said that they expected such delays due to remote location, network problem and interference brought about by cameras, cellphones and other electronic materials within the vicinity. Melo said that the technical glitches they encountered will be given corresponding solutions in order to avoid a repeat of the same in the actual elections this coming May 10.
