A battery of lawyers have been provided to the families and victims of MV Baleno 9 courtesy of Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) Chairman Richard Gordon. The senator has asked his lawyer-friends in order to pursue the Civil, Criminal and Administrative cases against Besta Shipping Lines, in order to help the victims and their families in their claims for insurance and damages.
According to Gordon, he made this move after a quite number of people have personally sought his help because the owners and administrators of MV Baleno 9 were short-changing them in their claims. Gordon said that he has advised them not to sign any quitclaim and asked the media to be vigilant so that the victims will get what is rightfully due them.
