The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has junked the application of National Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) to be this coming May 2010 poll's Citizens' Arm. In a nine-page resolution of the Comelec en banc, the commission has doubted the credibility of Namfrel's Chairman Jose Concepcion Jr. for being a critic of deposed president Joseph Estrada who is again running for president.
Comelec has favored Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) to be this election's Citizens' Arm which will be able to get hold of the fourth copy of the election returns and certificates of votes from the automated machines.
