Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Robert Nacianceno and other officials together with women from civic-groups like Rotary and Jaycees, have inspected MMDA's three pilot urinals before its official launch today. Among the three, one is stationed at the corner of EDSA and Ortigas, the other two along EDSA and Quezon Avenue. Primary concerns like security, electricity, cleanliness and availability of water were considered in the design of these urinals.
Nacianceno is encouraging women to use the said facility in order to solicit feedbacks which will help his office in improving the design of subsequent urinals that they plan to open. Maintenance of these urinals will be taken cared of 24 hours by MMDA personnel to ensure that its purpose will not be defeated. A plan to put up urinals for handicapped is also underway.
