AFP targets around 8,500 new recruits and will be distributed as follows:  4,424 for Philippine Army, 1,754 for Philippine Air Force (PAF) and 2,720 for Philippine Navy.  Said posts include combatant and administrative careers.  According to Cruz, height is not a requirement for a soldier to be a sharp shooter.
