Pantone, the global authority of color, which sets professional color standards for the design industries, unveiled Turquoise 15-5519 as the Color of the Year. They described the color to be “an inviting, luminous hue” which combines the serene qualities of blue and the invigorating aspects of green. It is believed that turquoise has some healing and protective effect notwithstanding the fact that it matches nicely with other colors.
The turquoise mineral is known for its talisman effect that it gives natural protection against the power of darkness. Last year’s color of the year was Mimosa.
