After the devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti last Tuesday, top social networking site Facebook has launched its "Global Relief" page so that Facebook members can give their assistance to victims of natural calamities and disasters. To date, the said site has generated almost 7,000 fans and continuously growing by the minute.
Andrew Noyes, spokesperson of Facebook said "The devastating earthquake in Haiti has underscored the Internet's critical role in connecting the world's population in times of tragedy. In response to this and in anticipation of future disasters, Facebook has launched the Global Relief on Facebook page where our more than 350 million members can educate themselves and find out how to help."
