Former United States President Bill Clinton underwent angioplasty last Thursday, February 11 in New York Presbyterian Hospital where he was operated for a heart bypass surgery in September 2004. Clinton was brought to the hospital after complaining of chest discomfort while attending in a conference for Haiti earthquake relief.
Hilary Clinton, Secretary of State and wife of the former president traveled to New York from Washington, their daughter Chelsea was also in the hospital. Clinton’s Cardiologist Allan Schartz said that test showed one of the bypasses from previous surgery was blocked so they needed to conduct an angioplasty. The procedure went very smoothly that Clinton is expected to be released from the hospital on Friday.
