Philippine National Police Spokesman C/Supt. Leonardo Espina told reporters that they will investigate Manny Pacquiao for having 20 bodyguards as questioned by Senator Rodolfo Biazon and considering it as blatant violation of Comelec’s order of limiting the number of bodyguards or security detail for candidates this coming May polls. Espina reiterated that Pacquiao was no exemption to this rule.
Based on the Comelec’s directive, a candidate for national position is entitled to only six bodyguards while two bodyguards for candidates seeking local positions to which Pacquiao is running as congressman.
